Statiune situata in munții Rodnei, pe Valea Viseului, in judetul Maramures,la
circa 100 km de Bistrita si 130 de Baia Mare.Situata la o altitudine de 850 m,
in sezonul de iarna statiunea ofera partii de schi si sanie,trambulină
naturală(50m),unica in Europa.Sezonul alb dureaza din decembrie pana in
aprilie. Pe timp de vara este loc de plecare in traseele din Rezervatia Rodnei.
SKI IN MARAMURES
Borsa Alt. 850 m
The resort is situated in Rodnei Mountains (Orientali Carpathians) in Maramures
County, in a area of a unique beauty that has preserved its traditions and
folclor. Skiing is rather an old habbit, as it has been introduced here in late
19th century. The slopes reach a 1200-1500 m elevation, with a naturally
occuring ski jumping hill (50 m high), unique in Europe.
Subalpine climate with a January average temperature of -7°C and a snow depth
average of 50 cm. Early December snow usually lasts till April.
Directions: The resort can be reached taking the DN18 road or DN17, or by train
till Viseu de Sus, where you have to switch and take the bus.
Borsa: A ride with the chair-lift cost 8 RON (80.000 lei), a ride with the
ski-lift cost 5 RON (50.000 lei) and a day ski-pass it's 70 RON..

The slopes are perfect for ski and there is plenty of very good snow. The price
for one ride with the La Icoana ski-lift it's 2.5 RON (25.000 lei) and a 12
rides ski-pass cost 25 RON (250.000 lei). On La Roata ski-lifts one ride cost 3
RON (30.000 lei), a 12 rides ski-pass cost 30 RON (300.000 lei) and a day
ski-pass it's 45 RON (450.000 lei). There are discounts for kids, students and
families.
